Working Group2 : Risk Communication, Community Engagement and Infodemic Management
Risk communication (RC), community engagement (CE), and infodemic management (IM) are key public health competencies across crisis response phases. RC supports informed decisions, CE involves working with communities as partners, and IM counters misinformation using evidence-based approaches. These capacities are closely interconnected, especially in crises. Strengthening RCCE-IM among affected populations can mitigate impacts. Globally, reaching migrant populations and addressing their needs is essential.
This working group examines RCCE-IM in migration, focusing on stakeholder engagement, trust, and access to reliable information. One study explores the role of civil society organizations (CSOs) and volunteers and their interaction with local systems. Overall, the group aims to strengthen RCCE-IM capacities among migrants through country-level assessments.
